The Atelier
Inside the studio, millinery is shaped by hand through material, proportion, technique and instinct. Every piece begins as raw form and leaves with a distinct identity.
The Craft
The work of OTIS DAMÓN begins long before the final embellishment is added. Shape is studied. Material is manipulated. Proportion is adjusted until the piece feels intentional from every angle. Traditional millinery technique provides the foundation; a distinct point of view gives each hat its identity.
Crown, brim and proportion establish the architecture of the piece. Each form is considered as a complete silhouette, not simply an accessory.
Ribbon, texture, feathers, skins and unexpected elements are chosen to strengthen the design rather than decorate it.
The final adjustments bring structure and detail together, creating a piece that feels resolved from every viewpoint.
“The hat is not the finishing touch. It is the point of view.”
From Material To Form
In the OTIS DAMÓN studio, material is not simply cut and assembled. It is shaped, worked and refined until the character of the piece begins to emerge.
Much of that character comes from the hand of the maker — the decisions made during the process that cannot be reduced to a pattern or repeated mechanically.
